Denise McHugh: Integrative Psychotherapist – Belfast & Ballycastle, Northern Ireland
Hello. My name is Denise and I am a psychotherapist. My qualifications are MSc in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy and MSc in Cognitive-Behavioural Psychotherapy. I am also a registered nurse and whilst nursing I specialised in the field of Child and Adolescent Mental Health. I now practice as an Integrative Psychotherapist and I am also a qualified supervisor.
I have a Private Practice in Ballycastle, Northern Ireland. I work with children, adolescents, and adults. For adults, I provide a secure base to facilitate painful emotions and memories, to enable grieving and repair, leading to recovery and positive present day functioning and a hopeful future.
For children and adolescents I have a wide range of experience working with psychological, behavioural and emotional problems. I work creatively using sandtray therapy, play therapy and art as therapy mediums but can also use CBT therapy and longer term psychodynamic psychotherapy.
